Sessions and Fees

St Alphege Pre-School is open 5 sessions per week,
during school term-time.

Monday to Friday:  09.10 - 12.10

We care for a maximum of 26 children per day (35 over the week) with a ratio of 1 adult to 4 children aged under 3,
and 1 adult to 8 children aged over 3, excluding parental help.

The children are encouraged to make choices from a wide range of activities, and there is plenty of adult help to develop social skills and interaction with other children.  We aim to provide a balance of child-led and adult-led activities and there are times when the children come together in their Key Groups to join their teacher for ‘newsround’ and other, more structured, activities.  The children love to explore our Forest School and we provide suitable outdoor clothing.

Snack time is organised in Keyworker groups and the children are encouraged to get involved by buttering their own toast and pouring their drinks – ‘magic’ milk and ‘fairy’ water (what a difference a name makes!).  The session includes story-time using a range of props such as story-boards, big books, glove puppets and then we usually end the morning with songs, rhymes, parachute game or musical instruments before it is time to go home.

Fees for the 2018/2019 academic year will be £17.60 per session.

This is split as follows:

  • An Attendance Fee of £11.70 per session
  • An Extra Services Fee of £5.90 per session, to include consumables such as snacks, drinks, paper towels, cooking activities, craft materials, access to our Forest School Garden and Electronic Learning Journals

Fees are payable half-termly in advance, but a flexible payment system can be arranged if required.

Government funding for 3 year olds is available the term after the child turns 3 and parents are entitled to up to 5 x 3 hour sessions per week.
We prefer children to attend a minimum of 3 sessions per week as this enables the children to receive the full benefit of the curriculum and experiences being offered.
Fees are usually payable by the last day of the previous half-term.
