Welcome to St. Alphege Pre-school!
Pre-school prides itself in offering a caring, stimulating and safe environment and a happy atmosphere, where children are individually valued and their needs are met. We help children to build their skills to their full potential, and give them the opportunity to rely on people outside their family and to develop confidence with other children in a wider environment. St. Alphege Pre-School offers sessional (part-time) care and is registered to receive 2 & 3 year olds by the EYDCP (Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership). Pre-school is inspected by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education). It is managed by a committee which is formed by parents of the Pre-School children. St. Alphege Pre-school welcomes children of differing needs and operates an inclusion policy. A balance of activities is provided to support children’s learning in all areas of the curriculum as referred to in the Early Years Foundation Stage. The curriculum covers the following major areas of learning and development: •Personal, social and emotional development •Communication and language •Literacy •Mathematical development •Understanding the world •Physical development •Expressive arts & design A great deal can be learned through play and this can provide the basis for future learning as well as introducing children to routines which will help to ease the transition into school. Pre-school provides child-oriented learning in which children have a wealth of rich first-hand experiences and learn through discovery methods. Children are given opportunities to be autonomous, to choose their activities and to make decisions. | ![]() Pre-school Prayer "We fold our hands
