 Our Mission Statement:

At St Alphege Preschool & No.1 Club, our mission is to nurture and inspire each child's natural curiosity and love for learning in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. We are dedicated to fostering holistic development by providing rich, play-based experiences that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Our passionate educators work collaboratively with families to cultivate a community where every child feels valued, confident, and empowered to explore their world. We strive to lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and a genuine respect for diversity and the world around us.

St. Alphege Preschool offers care for children from their 2nd birthday until they are of school age.  We are rated Ofsted GOOD.

Preschool Group is a Committee run not for profit organisation, the Committee is formed of parents past and present along with members of the parish, we work closely with St Alphege Parochial Church Council.

Our Vision:

To be a beacon of early childhood education where every child is inspired to discover their unique potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

 Our Curriculum

A balance of activities is provided to support children’s learning in all areas of the curriculum as referred to in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

The curriculum covers the following major areas of learning and development:

A great deal can be learned through play and this provides the basis for future learning as well as introducing children to routines.

Preschool provides child-focused learning in which children have a wealth of firsthand experiences and learn through discovery methods.

About Our Sessions

Snack time is organised in Keyworker groups with the children encouraged to get involved by buttering their own toast and pouring their own drinks.

We enjoy story-time using a range of props such as story-boards, big books, glove puppets and we usually end the morning with songs, rhymes, the parachute game and musical instruments before it's time to go home.
